Evangelism 2015 Lesson #1

The five steps of Evangelism

Intro: Would you rather preach infront of 2000 people,or talk with someone one on one?

 Study

  1. Deut 30:19, Mark 16:15-18 When we personally choose life over death through Christ, we are called by God to bring this same message of salvation to others.
    1. Acts 1:8, Luke 24:49 God will anoint us with the power of the Holy Spirit to evangelize the lost, and backslidden who are in this world.
      1. Mt 10:19-20 When we step out in faith to share Christ with others, God promises to give us the right words to say.
      2. Rom 10:14 We must realize that our purpose as Christians in this world is evangelism, it is our responsability to share Christ with others.
    2. Acts 4:12, Rom 10:13 We need to clearly share the message of salvation from hell through accepting Christ as our Lord and savior.
  2. Rom 10:14, Acts 28:31 As we begin this series Evangelism 2015, we want to review the Crossfire five step plan of evangelism.
    1. #1 Introduction: We need to introduce ourselves, and initiate a conversation.
    2. #2 Start a conversation: We should ask their names, and other questions, entering into a conversation about any topic.
    3. #3 Bring God into the conversation: We then look for ways to bring God into the conversation, and find out if they are right with God.
    4. #4. Salvation – The sinners prayer (Rom 10:9, 1 John 1:9) We should ask them if they want to accept Christ, then have them repeat the sinners prayer: “I confess that im a sinner, I repent of my sins, Jesus I accept you as my Lord and savior, thank you for dying on the Cross for my sins and being my savior”.
    5. #5. Follow up: Get their contact information, and invite them to Church, and to Crossfire Cell Groups, be sure to follow up with them the next week.

Discussion

  1. Why do you think many Christians don’t share Christ with others and many are afraid of evangelism?
  2. Can you share a time when you personally shared Christ with someone? What happened?
  3. Why is it so important that we as Christians make evangelism our top priority? What are some of the things that try to distract us from evangelism?
  4. Who are some people you know need to accept Christ? What is your plan to share Christ with them, and invite them to your church and cell group?

End: Pray for any youth and young adults you know who need to accept Christ, pray for opportunities for evangelism, then take requests.
