    1. Isaiah 48:17 Many people who believe in God, and know the truth about Christ still struggle with actually following God in their lives.
      1. 2 Chron 34:33 Some people struggle following God because of sin, or addictions that hold them down, others struggle with letting go of bad relationships, and many people also have a hard time letting go of their own will.
      2. Prov 3:5-6 God promises that when we trust him, and surrender everything to him, that he will direct us around problems and lead us to the best life we can have.
    2. Phil 4:19 Jesus also promises us that when we seek God above all else, obey his commands, and do his work, he will give us everything we need in this life.
  2. Joshua 24:15, Deut 30:19 When we choose to go our own way in life we will have many unnecessary problems, struggles, and miss Gods best for our lives.
    1. Numbers 14:24 But when we step out in faith surrendering everything to Christ and follow his lead, we will have a great impact in this life and we will be blessed.
      1. John 8:12 We need to be willing to repent of all sin, and let go of all wrong influences, friendships, and dating relationships and follow Gods will for our lives.
      2. Isaiah 55:8 We also need to be willing to follow Gods plan in regards to what we will do in this life even when Gods will is different than our will.
    2. Matt 6:33, Lev 18:4 When we trust God and follow God even when we can’t see clearly and we don’t understand everything, God will bless our lives and use us to do great things in this life and lead many people to Christ.

Discussion

  1. Why do you think so many people have a hard time following God with all of their heart?
  2. Who can share a testimony of a time when you did not follow God but went your own way? What effect did this have on your life ?
  3. Who has a testimony of a time when you surrendered to God rather than going your own way? How has your life been better by following God and his will?
  4. Can someone share a testimony of a time when Gods will was different than your will? Who’s will did you choose and what were the results?

End: Pray for any who need to surrender and follow God in their lives, pray for any who need to accept Christ, then take requests.
