Tribulation and Armageddon

Intro: What is your favorite book of the bible and why?

Study

  1. 1 Thess 4:16-18, Mt 24:21-22 Christ will return to earth to remove all Christians from the earth (Rapture) then the tribulation will begin.
    1. Rev 12:9-12 Satan and the demons will be released on earth to intensely persecute all those who come to Christ after the Rapture.
      1. Daniel 9:27 This seven year tribulation will have 2 parts, the first half will be a 3 1/2 year peace treaty the antichrist initiates with Israel.
      2. Rev 13:16-18 Mid way through the antichrist will be revealed, and will try to force the world to take the mark of the beast, and deny Christ.
    2. Rev 13:5-7, Daniel 7:21 The Antichrist will rule the world, will try to destroy Christians, and attempt to destroy Israel.
  2. Rev 19:12-15,19-20 The tribulation will end when Christ returns to Earth a second time to defeat the antichrist and satan at the battle of Armageddon.
    1. Rev 16:16 The bible tells us that the Antichrist and rulers of nations deceived by him will gather to annihilate Israel.
      1. Zech 12:11 Armageddon is a literal location, it is a valley in Israel next to the ancient city of Megiddo.
      2. Rev 12:17, Rev 19:19-21 The battle of Armageddon will be the last war on earth, and an all out war between heaven and hell.
    2. Matt 25: 11-13,Rom 10:13-15 One of the reasons the bible tells us what will happen in the end times is so that we can be ready ourselves, and also so that we are reminded of the importance of sharing Christ with others.

Discussion

  1. In what ways do you think it will be difficult for those who become Christians during the tribulation?
  2. Why do you think satan actually thinks that he can fight against God and have a chance?
  3. Why do you think the devil hates israel so much, and the antichrist will destroy Israel during the tribulation?
  4. How should we as Christians react as we get closer to the end times? how can we avoid fear and paranoia when it comes to the end times?

End: Pray for any who are not right with Christ to either rededicate their lives to Christ, or accept Christ for the first time, then take requests.
