“ Prayer “

Intro:  What is the longest church service you have ever been in? How long was it?

Study

  1. Jer 1:5, Jer 29:11-13  It is Gods will that when we become Christians that we become strong in God, that we remain on-fire for God, and that we fulfill Gods call on our lives.
    1. Galatians 5:6-7 However, the devil will throw many things at us to try and pull us away from God, and from accomplishing His will here in this world.
      1. James 1:22  There are specific things that the Bible tells us we need to do in order to remain strong in our faith and on fire for God
      2. Psalms 61:1 One of the main things that we as Christians need to do to in order to remain strong in our walk with God is to pray!
    2. Phil 4:6-8  Many youth and young adults do not pray consistently, and have many. reasons and excuses as to why they are not praying.
  2. Eph 6:19, 2 Thess 5:17 Prayer is absolutely essential if we want to remain strong in our walk with God, resist temptation, and fulfill Gods purpose for our lives!
    1. James 5:16 Those who pray regularly have much more strength to resist temptation, they hear God much more clearly, and they receive divine strength to fulfill Gods call.
      1. Col 4:2 There are three types of prayer, corporate prayer (when we pray in church)  ministerial prayer (when we pray for other people) and personal prayer, which is when we pull away from everyone else and pray alone between us and God
      2. Luke 5:16 The most important type of prayer is personal prayer! Each one of us needs to have a daily time of personal prayer in our lives!
    2. Matt 6:6. Mark 16:15 In order for us to remain strong in our faith, on-fire for God and able to fulfill Gods purposes for our lives, it is essential that we pray! Each of us must have daily personal times of prayer so that we can #Reachtheworld!

  1. (Have each person answer) Do you have a personal time of prayer? If so how long do you pray each day? When do you have your personal time of prayer each day?
  2. What are some of the excuses and reasons that many youth and young adults give as to why they do not pray consistently?
  3. Why is prayer absolutely essential if we want to remain strong in our faith, on-fire for God and able to accomplish Gods will for our lives here in this world?
  4. What are some of the things that distract you from your personal time of prayer? Are you ready to get those things out of your life?

End: Pray for those who want to overcome all excuses and develop a strong daily time of personal prayer in their lives in order to remain on-fire for God. Pray for anyone who needs to accept Jesus as their Savior or rededicate their lives to Christ, then take requests
