 “ Secret sin “

Intro:  What is the best Christian event you have ever been to in your life?

                                                            Study

  1. 1 John 2:20, Jer 29:11-13 The Holy Spirit wants to anoint us to accomplish a specific purpose and call that God has for us here in this world!
    1. Eph 4:30 We need to be very careful that we stay away from the sin, compromise, and ungodliness that offends the Holy Spirit and will push Gods anointing away.
      1. Psalms 66:18 The Bible teaches us that “if we hold sin in our heart, that the Lord will not listen” We must understand that secret sin blocks us from God.
      2. Psalms  51:11 Secret sin in our personal lives offends the Holy Spirit and will push the anointing of God away.
    2. James 1:15, Prov 26:11 Not only does secret sin push the anointing of God away, it will also grow and will destroy our lives if we do not deal with it.
  2. 1 John 1:9, Acts 3:19 Victory over secret sin begins with repentance! We must confess our sin, and repent of it, asking God to forgive us of our sin.
    1. Eph 4:27 Once we have sincerely repented of our sin, we then need to get the sin completely out of our lives!
      1. Eph 5:11 We need to completely expose the sin, and cut off every opportunity to return to the secret sin by ending every sinful relationship, and by getting everything else out of our lives that might have contributed to the sin.
      2. Mathew 5:29-30 If you are in a sinful dating relationship, then you need to end that relationship, if you look at sinful things on the internet, then get rid of the internet!
    2. 2 Cor 6:17, James 4:27 In order for us to keep the anointing of God and accomplish Gods purpose for our lives in this world, we must be willing to repent of all secret sin, and cut off every opportunity to return to that sin! #Anointed!

  1. Is there anyone here who can share a testimony of a time when they had a secret sin in their lives, but once they repented God gave them a complete victory over that sin?
  2. What are the steps the Bible gives us to overcome every secret sin that separates us from God and offends the Holy Spirit?
  3. Why is it so important that we quickly repent of our sin and do everything that we can to get secret sin out of our lives?
  4. Is there anyone here today that needs to repent of a secret sin that is in your life? Are you now ready to repent of that sin, and get everything out of your life that causes you to sin?

End: Pray for those who want to repent of any secret sin, and get the things out of their lives that cause them to sin. Also pray those through the sinners prayer who want to accept Jesus as their Savior, then take requests.
