Relational Evangelism
Intro: When you are married, How many children would you like to have and why?
Study
- Matt 28:18-20 God has called us as Christians to evangelize, when we know Christ we have the responsibility to reach out and share Christ with others.
- Acts 1:8, Rom 10:14 We are called to evangelize those who are around us in our every day lives, as well as those who are on the other side of the world.
- Heb 3:12-13 One of the ways we can have a great impact in evangelizing locally is through sharing Christ with people we know.
- 1 Peter 3:15-16 Every one of us has unsaved family members, we should take time to reach out to those in our family who are unsaved or backslidden.
- Matt 5:13-16 Many of us see people every day in our schools, our work, or in our neighborhoods who don’t know Christ.
- Acts 1:8, Rom 10:14 We are called to evangelize those who are around us in our every day lives, as well as those who are on the other side of the world.
- 1 Cor 3:6-8, Matt 10:19-20 God will use us at times to plant seeds in peoples lives, and at other times he will use us to lead people to Christ.
- Eph 6:18-20 We need to look for opportunities to share Christ with people we know, and pray that God will prepare their hearts to receive.
- Matt 10:32-34 Many Christians don’t reach out to family, or close friends out of fear that they won’t want to listen to them because of the relationship.
- Rom 1:16 We need to face any fears or nervousness we may feel in reaching out to people we know well, trusting that God will show us what to say.
- Matt 5:14-16 God wants us to be a light to all those who are around us, Every one in our lives should know about Christ because of us.
- Eph 6:18-20 We need to look for opportunities to share Christ with people we know, and pray that God will prepare their hearts to receive.
Discussion
- Do you feel that family members, or people you are close to are more or less likely to listen to you when you share Christ with them? and why?
- What are some of the fears that keep Christians from sharing Christ with friends or family members who are unsaved or backslidden?
- Who has a testimony of a time when you led a family member or friend to Christ?
- Who do you feel the Lord leading you to share Christ with in your family, or in your every day life ? What is your plan to share Christ with them?
End: Pray for opportunities to share Christ with friends or family members who are unsaved or backslidden, then take requests.
