Identity of God Lesson #7

 A God of Grace

Intro: Who is the most influential person in your life, and why ?

  1. 2 Cor 4:4, 1 Tim 4:1 We are living in a world today that is confused about the reality of God, and the identity of who God is.
    1. Romanos 11:6, Titus 2:11 One of the most important characteristics of Gods identity is his grace, God is a God of incredible love and grace.
      1. Eph 2:8-9 God shows us his immense grace through sending his son Christ to die on the Cross for us, not because of our works, but because of his love.
      2. Psalms 103:12 When we repent, God will completely forgive us of our sin, no matter how bad we messed up or what we did wrong.
    2. Rom 8:28 When we repent and completely surrender to God, not only does he forgive us, he also works it together for our good, and uses us to minister to others
  2. Psalms 119:7-9, Heb 4:12 The Bible is the perfect word of God and our standard of what is right and wrong, and God wants us to live by his laws and commands.
    1. 1 John 1:8-9 When we sin and make mistakes, if we then repent God will always forgive us, forget about our mistakes and restore us.
      1. James 4:6 However when deny we made a mistake or act like we can do whatever we want, God will resist our pride.
      2. 1 Tim 4:1, John 14:15 Many people today have no absolutes, no sense of right and wrong, and mistake the grace of God as permission to do whatever they want
    2. 2 Cor 5:20, 2 Cor 4:7 By his grace God has chosen us imperfect vessels to carry his perfect message of grace and salvation to a world that is lost and confused about the true identity of God, so they can know the truth and be saved!

  1. In what ways have you personally seen Gods grace in your life? What are some examples of how God has protected you and kept you safe?
  2. For those of you who have repented of past sin and surrendered to God, how has God turned it around for good?
  3. What are some of the major sins that the Bible directly tells us not to do that are accepted as normal in our world today?
  4. What are some of the many blessings God has given you? What are you doing to help others come to know Christ as savior and experience the grace of God?

End: Pray for any who need to know the grace of God in their lives, pray for any who need to accept Christ, then take requests.
