Intro: What is your favorite book of the Bible and why?

Study

  1. Jer 20:9, Jer 1:5  It is Gods will that when we become Christians that we become strong in God, that we remain on-fire for God, and that we fulfill Gods call on our lives.
    1. Galatians 5:7-8 However, the devil will throw many things at us to try and pull us away from God, and from accomplishing His will here in this world.
      1. Psalms 119:9-11 In order for us to remain on fire for God it is essential that we read,  study, and memorize the Word of God, and that we preach the Word of God to the world.
      2. Psalms 119:105 The Bible is Gods Word, it is our light, our guide, our council, and it holds the solution to every situation we face in this life.
    2. Acts 5:29  The Bible is also our standard. We as Christians must determine right and wrong on what the Bible says, not on what the spiritually blind world around us thinks.
  2. Prov 3:1-2, Psalms 119:130 When we hide the Word of God in our hearts we find truth, we find freedom, we find guidance, and we find the strength to resist and overcome the temptations of the world, and to accomplish Gods will for our lives.
    1. Mathew 4:4 In the same way that we need to eat food daily to physically survive and be   healthy, we need to read and study the Bible daily in order to be spiritually healthy.
      1. Mathew 26:41 When we neglect times of reading the Bible and prayer, we become spiritually weak, vulnerable to temptation, and we backslide much more easily.
      2. 2 Tim 3:16-17 However, when we pray, and read the Bible daily, we find the strength to resist temptation, we hear Gods voice more clearly, and we stay strong in our faith.
    2. Rom 12:2, Mark 16:15 In order for us to remain strong, on-fire for God, and able to accomplish Gods will for our lives it is essential that we read and study Gods word daily!                                                    #Reachtheworld!

  1. How often do you read and study the Bible? When do you have your personal time of reading the Bible?
  2. What are some of the many things that can distract Christian youth and young adults from reading the Bible?
  3. Why is reading and studying the Bible absolutely essential if we want to remain strong in our faith, on-fire for God, and able to accomplish Gods will for our lives here in this world?
  4. What are some of the things that distract you from your personal time of prayer? Are you ready to get those things out of your life?
