Pray Continuously

Intro: What is your favorite thing to do when it is raining?


  1. 1 Thess 5:17, 2 Chron 7:14 The Bible tells us that we are to pray continuously, this means that we are to have regular    planned set times of prayer in our lives.
    1. Gen 3:8 God made man with the need to spend time with him daily, man wasdesigned to seek God, to need God, and to interact with God through prayer.
      1. Mark 1:35 Jesus the son of God, our greatest example prayed continuously demonstrating for us the need for regular times of prayer.
      2. Luke 5:16 If Jesus himself needed to pray daily, how much more do each oneof us need to pray continuously.
    2. Mt 26:40-41 In order to develop regular prayer in our lives, we will have to battle our flesh, and fight against the many distractions that will come against us.
  2. 1 Samuel 30:6 Prayer is absolutely necessary for us to make it through life, throughprayer we find strength in God toovercome the challenges that arise.
    1. Acts 2:1-4 It is through prayer that we receive the strength and anointing to accomplish the call of God on our lives.
      1. Prov 3:6 It is also in prayer that God speaks to us when we have difficult decisions to make, and need to know what direction to go.
      2. Eph 6:18, Phil 4: 6-8 God wants us to come to him in prayer with all of our requests, concerns, worries, and problems.
    2. Matt 6:9-13, Luke 11:1-4 God is calling everyone of us to Pray, In this new series, we will discuss how to develop a strong life of prayer.


  1. What are some of the many distractions in life that try to pull us away from having regular times of prayer?
  2. Why is it absolutely necessary for us to pray in order to remain strong, and accomplish Gods will for our lives?
  3. How does prayer make a difference when we face challenges, or when we need to hear God on making decisions?
  4. Who can give a testimony of a time when because of prayer God moved in a great way? What are some prayer requests that you currently have?
