Intro: Do you prefer to pray early in the morning or late at night?

  1. 1 Thess 5:17, James 5:16 Prayer is essential, each of us need to be a part of prayer meetings, be willing to pray for others, and we MUST have a daily personal prayer time.
    1. Mt 6:5-6 Many times Christians think because they go to church, and prayer meetings that they don’t need to have a personal time of prayer as well.
      1. Luke 5:16 Jesus prayed for people, led prayer meetings, and still pulled away from everyone to have times of prayer.
      2. 1 Pet 5:7-9 Because the devil knows how important our prayer times are, he will bring every possible excuse and distraction to keep us from praying.

      2. 2 Tim 4:17, Phil 4:13 In Prayer we find strength to do the work of God, as well as understanding to know what to do and which way to go.
    2. Prov 8:17, Matt 6:8-13 Everyone of us need a daily time of prayer, for each of us it may be a different time of day, length, or style

  1. Why is personal prayer absolutely essential for us to stand strong as Christians, hear Gods voice, and accomplish God’s will for our lives?
  2. Who can share testimonies of how prayer has made a difference in your life personally? How has God spoken to you in prayer?
  3. What are some of the things that try and distract you from your daily set time of prayer? How can you avoid those distractions?
  4. Who would like to develop a stronger personal daily time of prayer? When are you going to set your time of prayer each day?

End: Pray for those who need to develop a daily personal time of prayer, then pray for any needs and requests that people have.
