“Where are you ?” Lesson #2

“ Where are you at with influences?”

Intro: Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?

  1. Genesis 3:8-12 God created Adam and Eve, blessed Adam and Eve in every way, provided everything they would ever need and then gave them instructions they were to obey.
    1. Gen 2:15-17 The instructions and standards of God were not meant to keep Adam and Eve from fun, they were meant to protect them from the pain, hurt, disappointment, suffering and death that comes from sin and turning away from God.
      1. Gen 3:1-6 As long as Adam and Eve obeyed God and remained in Gods will everything in their lives was good, but they chose to rebel against God, and when they turned away from God everything in their lives went wrong.
      2. Gen 3:4-6 Adam and Eve knew what was right, they knew the commands and the love of God, but they allowed bad influences to pull them away from God.
    2. 1 Cor 15:33 Many youth and young adults start off on fire for God, but allow wrong influences into their lives that pull them away from God.
  2. 2 Cor 5:17, Prov 26:11 When we accept Christ, everything is new, God wants us to come out from our old way of life, and lay aside all of the negative influences of the past.
    1. Eph 4:27 Some of the things we need to get rid of in our lives are wrong dating relationships, wrong friendships, wrong music, movies, and other negative influences.
      1. Hosea 4:6 Many Christians fail to use wisdom in their personal lives and allow wrong influences to pull them away from God and cause them to backslide.
      2. 2 Cor 6:17, Rom 12:2 In order for us to remain strong as Christians, we need to renew our minds in Gods word and surround ourselves with right influences.
    2. Prov 4:23, Gen 3:9 Our lives will be blessed in every way if we choose to guard our hearts against the wrong influences of the world, and remain in Gods will! Where are you?
