      1. Mt 4:4, 1 Thess 5:17 In order for us to remain strong in our walk with God we need to develop regular personal daily times of prayer, worship, and we need to read the bible.
      2. Prov 4:23 We also need to guard our hearts and use wisdom in our influences, especially in the area of our friendships and relationships.
    2. Eph 4:27, Hosea 4:6, 1 Pet 5:8-9 We as people can be easily influenced to do wrong, so we must be wise avoiding friendship with the world, and never give the devil a foothold!
  2. Gal 5:7, 1 Cor 15:33 There are many youth and young adults who start off on fire in their walk with God, but who backslide and fall away from God due to wrong friendships.
    1. Romans 16:19 Although it is true that we are called to evangelize and reach out to the unsaved, the unsaved are not to be our closest friends.
      1. Prov 26:11 Many youth who become saved and yet keep their old friendships, are influenced to go back to their old ways.
      2. 2 Cor 5:17, Prov 27:6 When we accept Christ, everything is new, we need to be willing to cut off and end old friendships with those who are unsaved or backslidden.
    2. Gen 3:9, Heb 10:25 We then need to surround ourselves with strong Christians who are on fire for God, who can help us remain strong in God and who will serve God together with us actively in the ministry! Where are you???

Discussion

  1. Why can it be difficult at times for Christians to cut off and end wrong friendships with those who are not serving God?
  2. What are some of the dangers of us as Christians having close friends who are unsaved or backslidden?
  3. What are some of the many benefits of ending wrong relationships and developing close friendships with strong Christians?
  4. Are there any of you tonight who know God is speaking to you about ending wrong friendships that are in your life? What steps are you going to take to end the friendships?

End: Pray for any who need to get rid of wrong friendships in their lives and develop strong godly relationships that can help them reman strong in their relationship with God, then take requests.
