“Where are you ?” Lesson #7

“ Where are you going?

 

Intro: Where is the farthest place you have ever traveled from your home?

 

Study

  1. Genesis 3:8-12 God created Adam and Eve, blessed Adam and Eve in every way, provided everything they would ever need and then gave them instructions they were to obey.
    1. Gen 2:15-17 When we obey Gods instructions and remain in Gods will, then our lives are blessed in every way, but when we turn from God then we have many needless problems.
      1. Acts 9:1-6 Paul was going the wrong direction in his life before he had an encounter with God, and after he met God, he went a completely different direction and never returned to his life of sin.
      2. 2 Cor 5:17 Many of us were going the wrong direction in our lives lives before we had an encounter with God, once we accept Christ, God wants us to go in a new direction!
    2. John 14:15 The proof that our love for God and commitment to Christ is real is that there is lasting and permanent change in our lives.
  2. Proverbs 26:11 Many youth and young adults have powerful encounters with God, go to camps, crusades, church, and cell groups, but don’t change the direction of their lives after they return home, they simply return to their old life of sin like a dog returns to its vomit!
    1. James 2:17, Hosea 4:6 There are some steps the bible gives us to do to make sure we remain strong in God, change our ways, and go the direction God wants us to go in life.
      1. – Below are five key steps we can take to make sure we are going the right direction
      2. 1. Eph 4:27 Change your influences: We need to be willing to get rid of wrong influences in our lives things such as Godless music, movies, games, and pornography.
      3. 2. 1 Cor 15:33 Change your relationships: End any wrong friendships or dating relationships with those who are Godless, hypocritical, or apathetic.
      4. 3. Matt 4:4 , Isaiah 58:6 Time with God: We need to develop daily times of prayer, reading the Bible, and regular times of worship and fasting.
      5. 4. Heb 10:25 Fellowship: We need to faithfully attend church and Crossfire cell groups each week, faithfully building relationships that can help us be strong in God.
    2. 1 Tim 4:12 Leadership: Each of us needs to be active serving and helping in the ministry, sharing Christ with the unsaved around us, serving in the church, leading a Crossfire cell group in your home, church or school, leading worship or serving in another area. Where are you going???

  1. Why do you think there are so many youth and young adults who go to church but have not changed the wrong directions in their lives?
  2. What are some areas that have changed in your live personally since you have accepted Christ as your savior?
  3. What are some areas you feel God still wants you to surrender to him and allow him to change in your life? What is holding you back?
  4. What are some of the things you feel you can do in your life personally to make sure you remain strong in God and are going the right direction?

 

 

End: Pray for any who need to accept Christ or recommit their lives to Christ, and pray for any who need to make changes in the direction of their lives, then take requests.
