“ What will you choose?”

Intro: What do you want to do in your life for a career ?

  1. 1 Kings 18:20-21 “How long will you waiver between two opinions?” The people of Israel were indecisive, uncommitted, and easily influenced to do wrong.
    1. Jer 3:22 One minute the Israelites wanted to serve God, but the next minute they were backsliding and falling into sin.
      1. Ecc 12:1 This is where so many youth and young adults are today, wavering between two opinions, one minute on fire for God, the next minute backslidden falling into sin.
      2. Deut 6:12 There are many who go to camps, to church, and have encounters with God, but then they return to the world and are influenced to do wrong and fall away from God.
    2. Rev 3:16 There are others who are hypocritical, who act Godly when they are around the church, but who live in blatant sin when are they away from the church.
  2. Deut 30:15-19 God has placed before all of us a choice between life and death, when we choose to follow God our lives are blessed and we go to heaven in the end, when we choose to reject God and live in sin we have continual problems and eternity in hell.
    1. Gal 6:7 God has given each of us free will, we can do whatever we want in this life, but there are real consequences both good and bad for the decisions we make.
      1. Joshua 24:15 The first and most important thing we need to do to remain on fire for God is to make a firm decision that we will serve God.
      2. 2 Cor 6:17 We need to commit ourselves to following Gods will and to live by Gods biblical standards in our personal lives.
    2. Matt 5:14 God has called us as Christians to remain on fire, to carry the light of Christ to the dark world, and it starts with our personal choice. What will you choose?

  1. What are some of the problems that come about in our lives when we choose to reject God and live a life of sin in the world?
  2. What are some of the many blessings that come about in our lives when we choose to accept Christ and follow Gods biblical standards in our personal lives?
  3. Why do you think there are many youth who have encounters with God at church, at camp, but then they backslide and fall away from God?
  4. Do you personally feel that you have made a firm decision to accept Christ and follow Gods standards in your life? What his holding you back? Are you now ready to surrender to God?

End: Pray for any who need to accept Christ or recommit their lives to Christ, and pray for any who need to make better decisions in their lives, then take requests.
